Dr. Plante (aka "Nuka") is a furry and co-founder of the International Anthropomorphic Research Project (IARP), a team of social scientists who have been studying the furry fandom for nearly a decade. Dr. Plante's research interests in the fandom include the psychology of fantasy, the psychological processes that underlie being a member of a fan group, and the importance of fursonas to furries' well-being. He has presented IARP research at psychology and furry conventions around North America. When he's not doing science, he is usually running around in his fursuit, a neon-blue cat in a lab coat.
